WHO WE ARE

Independent home battery advice, honest quotes

We are not an installer. We are an independent UK home battery quote and comparison service that matches homeowners with vetted, MCS-registered installers, compares brands and prices, and gives you a straight, realistic payback figure rather than a sales pitch.

home battery storage: UK home battery storage specialists

Battery Storage Quotes is an independent home battery quote and comparison service for UK homeowners. We are operated by SEO Dons Ltd (Company No. 16766013). To be completely clear about what we are and what we are not: we do not install batteries ourselves, we do not sell any particular brand, and we are not tied to a single manufacturer. What we do is match you with vetted, independent, MCS-registered installers, compare the brands and prices that suit your home, and give you an honest payback figure you can actually rely on. If a battery is not worth it for your usage or your tariff, we will say so plainly, because our job is to help you make a good decision, not to sell you a system.

We built this service because the home battery market is genuinely confusing to buy in. Quotes for what looks like the same system vary by thousands of pounds. Savings are routinely overstated. Brand reviews conflict, the jargon piles up (usable versus nominal kWh, AC versus DC coupling, depth of discharge, round-trip efficiency), and homeowners are often sold the biggest battery rather than the right one. Our whole reason for existing is to cut through that with plain English, real 2026 UK figures, and a straight comparison. We size to what a home can actually cycle in a day, not to a headline capacity, because a battery that never fully empties is money you never earn back.

How we work

It starts with a short form and a quick call to understand your home: your annual electricity usage, your tariff, whether you already have solar, and what you want the battery to do (store your own solar, charge cheaply overnight and beat the 4-7pm peak, or keep the lights on through a power cut). From there we size the system honestly against your real numbers, then match you with independent, MCS-registered installers so you can compare like-for-like quotes. Because we are independent of any manufacturer, the kit that gets recommended is chosen for your home and budget, not for a supplier relationship. You get a realistic payback figure, quoted in usable kWh so the comparison is fair, and the 0% VAT relief applied while it lasts. There is no obligation and no pressure at any stage.

Why independence matters

Independence is not a marketing word for us, it is the point. An installer tied to one brand will steer you to that brand. We are not, so we can give you a straight steer between, for example, a premium Tesla Powerwall 3 for whole-home backup, a strong-value Sunsynk or Fox ESS setup for solar and battery, or a modular system you can expand later. Independence also lets us be honest about a risk the industry would rather not discuss: manufacturer stability. GivEnergy, a major UK residential battery manufacturer, entered administration on 9 April 2026. Installed units keep working, but ongoing warranty support, firmware and spares are now in serious doubt. We treat that as a cautionary example, we do not recommend buying a new GivEnergy system, and we factor warranty security and manufacturer stability into every recommendation we make. A ten-year warranty is only worth something if the company is still there to honour it.

Is this free? How we are paid

Yes, the service is free for you and there is no obligation at any point. You pay nothing to use us, nothing for the comparison, and nothing to receive your quotes. You are never locked in, and if you decide a battery is not for you, that is a perfectly good outcome and it costs you nothing. So how do we keep the lights on? We are paid a referral fee by the installer, and only when we successfully match a homeowner with the right one. Here is the part that matters: we match on fit, not on fees. We choose the installer for your home based on the right kit for your usage, the price, the security of the warranty and the manufacturer behind it, and how close the installer is to you. We never match you to whoever pays us the most, because that would ruin the only thing we are useful for. And if a battery is not right for your home, your tariff or your usage, we will tell you so plainly rather than pushing a sale. Our honest advice is what earns your trust, and your trust is the whole business.

Our standards for the installers we work with

We only match you with installers who meet the standards a UK home battery job should meet. That means MCS registration for battery storage and solar PV, membership of the RECC (Renewable Energy Consumer Code) for proper contracts and cancellation rights, and TrustMark registration under the government-endorsed quality scheme. Installs are done to BS 7671 (the IET Wiring Regulations, 18th Edition) and follow the PAS 63100 fire-safety code for domestic battery storage, using thermally stable lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) chemistry as standard. The installer notifies your Distribution Network Operator under G98 (for systems up to 3.68 kW per phase) or applies under G99 (above that), and handles the smart-meter side for time-of-use tariffs. A domestic battery is permitted development, so no planning permission is needed for a standard house. These are not optional extras, they are the baseline, and they are exactly what using an accredited installer protects you from having to worry about.

Honest by default

We will not invent savings, we will not quote you a battery that is too big to ever cycle fully, and we will not name a single brand as best for everyone, because there is no such thing. We work only with real 2026 UK price points and label estimates as estimates. Our wedge is simple: transparent pricing, honest payback, and independent brand advice. If your usage is low and your tariff is flat, a battery may not pay back, and we would rather tell you that up front than sell you one. That honesty is the whole basis of the service, and it is why homeowners trust us to compare on their behalf. When you are ready, a quote costs nothing and starts with your real numbers.
